We work relentlessly to restore hope and dignity one smile, one patient at a time. We strive to make high-quality, compassionate dental care available to all Ugandans. We believe our ability to provide high-quality, compassionate dental care is a gift from God, one that we are to use to serve and love others. Our role in establishing His Kingdom in Uganda is to use our gift to serve people all over Uganda, equipping and empowering Ugandan dental professionals to use their gifts in service to their country.
Under the leadership of Dr. Ryan Shinska, our team of indigenous staff works to serve the needs of Jinja, surrounding communities, and in strategic locations throughout the nation.

Quite simply, we are in Uganda to love people.

We believe our ability to provide high-quality, compassionate dental care is a gift from God. We know we were created to love God with all that we are and to love others in the same way. Therefore our role in establishing His kingdom is to do whatever we can to bring our gift to people all over Uganda.

So we are serving God and seeking His kingdom, through our dentistry. We work to restore hope and dignity one smile, one patient at a time as we strive to make high-quality, compassionate dental care available to all Ugandans.

Where We're Headed

As previously stated, our focus on sustainable dentistry demands a long-term development strategy. There is no quick-fix for creating a holistic, sustainable, and indigenous-led program. We have big plans for our work in Uganda! We have seen lives changed all over this beautiful country through our service of over 10,000 patients over the past three years -- 10,000 people who otherwise would not have access to high-quality, compassionate dental care. But we are just getting started.

Our Plans Include:

1

Replicating our model Hope Smiles Dental Center in Jinja, establish other centers of high-quality, compassionate dental care throughout the country that serve as the front-runners of the future of dental care in Uganda.

2

Launch an officially recognized and/or credentialed Hope Smiles Teaching Clinic or private dental school to add recognized and definitive value to Ugandan dental practitioners and expand the Ugandan dental provider base. Currently, Uganda has one dental school for the entire country.

3

Believing the best health care is preventative health care, develop and deploy Community Health Advocate Program in target communities educating community members on oral health, hygiene, and preventative care mobilizing Ugandan Public Health Officers.

4

Develop and deploy community-based mobile dental clinics to provide communities surrounding our Hope Smiles Dental Centers with regular access to dental care. Also, our mobile dental clinics allow us to served unreached people with comprehensive dental care.

5

Mobilize teams of dental professionals to strategically engage within the work of Hope Smiles Uganda to come alongside Ugandan dental professionals to provide comprehensive care, education opportunities, and personal / professional mentorship.
